About Ready Keiki

Ready Keiki is Hawaiʻi’s statewide initiative to expand access to prekindergarten for every 3- and 4-year-old. Launched in January 2023 by Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke, the initiative advances the vision of Act 46 (2020), the state’s landmark measure to ensure universal access to pre-K by the year 2032.

Supported by the Legislature’s historic $200 million investment in early learning through Act 257 (2022), Ready Keiki is expanding public pre-K classrooms, increasing preschool subsidies, and strengthening the early learning workforce.

Together, these efforts help ensure Hawaiʻi’s youngest learners have a strong foundation for success while supporting working families and strengthening the state’s future.
